Galleria Dell’Accademia Di Firenze was founded in 1784 by Pietro Leopoldo the Grand Duke of Tuscany. It is home to Michelangelo’s David and many other important pieces. Located a couple of blocks north of the Duomo it is easy to walk to from most places in town. While it is not a huge museum it is well worth the visit. Give yourself a couple of hours.
