Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, was absolutely delightful. We were lucky to have a three night ‘layover’ here on our way to Italy and we loved it. Even though it is a good size city it has a small town feel.

The streets can get pretty busy with tourists and bicycles, as well as cars, but it still has a pretty laid back vibe.

This would be funnier if the ‘No Bike Parking’ stickers on the windows were bigger.

On the left side, is the boat (hotel) we stayed at while we were there. We had a fabulous view all around.

Most canals are lined with house boats and there is almost as much activity on the water as the streets.

There is plenty of art and museums to visit.

The Van Gogh Museum is a must, as is the Anne Frank House (below).

We found a roof top park on the NEMO museum.

And yummy foods…
Here’s to hoping we fly KLM again soon and have to take another layover. 🙂
